Transfer Assembly: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE 

    Refer to REMOVAL for 2AZ-FE.

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 63
  3. INSTALL ENGINE HANGER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 60
  4. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  5. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
  6. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  7. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SETTING BOLT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  8. REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and transfer stiffener plate RH.

  9. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  10. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 6 nuts.

    2. Using a plastic hammer, remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly without tilting it.
      • During removal, do not hold the transfer assembly by the oil seals on either side of the assembly.
