How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Interview the customer to confirm the trouble.

      HINT: 

      It is important to collect as much specific information as possible from the customer to allow for a quick repair.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE* 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Set the all tire pressure to the specified value. Refer to PRECAUTION .
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Data List.
    6. Read the "ID Tire Inflation Pressure" values.
    7. Check the Data List. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

      HINT: 

      • It takes about 2 or 3 minutes to display the updated tire pressure data.
      • If the problem is that the tire pressure decreases, wait until all of the tire pressure data is received by the ECU. If the data is received, the tire pressure warning light will goes off.

      Result

      Condition Proceed to
      Tire pressure warning light goes off A
      Tire pressure warning light remains on B

      A → GO TO STEP   9 

      B: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output A
      DTC is not output B

      B → GO TO   6 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. DTC CHART 
    1. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      NEXT → GO TO   7 

  6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. CIRCUIT INSPECTION* 
    1. Refer to Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    1. Repair or replace parts based on the diagnosis result.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CONFIRMATION TEST* 
    1. Check the Data List to confirm that the tire inflation pressure has been received. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .
    2. Perform initialization. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
    3. Confirm that the initialization has been completed.
