Engine Control System (2AZ-FE) (Service Information): ECM: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE  See step  3
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 14
  5. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Separate the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
      1. Push the locks on the 2 levers, then raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

        NOTE:

        After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and the ECM.

    4. Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
