Center Airbag Sensor Assembly: Removal: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  3. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 17
  5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 18
  6. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 19
  7. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 20
  8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 27
  9. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 28
  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
  11. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  12. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 32
  14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 33
  15. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 34
  16. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (for Automatic Transaxle)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 35
  17. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 40
  18. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Disconnect the holder (with connectors).

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor assembly.
