Knee Airbag Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the airbag connector and install the clamp to the driver side knee airbag assembly.

      NOTE:

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Push in the lock to install the airbag connector.
    5. Temporarily install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 6 claws and 4 guides.

    6. Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Confirm that the driver side knee airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

  2. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 22
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  4. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 45
  5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 46
  6. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 20
  7. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 21
  8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 24
  9. INSTALL BOX BOTTOM MAT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 25
  10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 26

  16. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  17. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
  18. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  19. INSTALL RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Radio and Display Type)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 26
  20. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH BRACKET (for Navigation Receiver Type)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  21. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 27
  22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 28

  25. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Refer to the procedure from Install Rear Console Box Assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  26. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  27. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 58
  28. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 59
  29. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for Separate Type)  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 60
  30. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 
    1. Perform a diagnostic system check. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
  31. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
