Service Plug Grip: Removal: Removal
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system or disconnecting the low voltage connector of the inverter with converter assembly or electric vehicle charger assembly, take safety precautions such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system. Refer to PRECAUTION .
- After removing the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high voltage connectors or terminals. After waiting for 10 minutes, check the voltage at the terminals in the inspection point in the inverter with converter assembly. The voltage should be 0 V before beginning work.
NOTE:After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to PRECAUTION .
HINT:
Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly and electric vehicle charger assembly.
- REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- SEPARATE CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- REMOVE DECK TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER
- Disconnect the 2 clips and disengage the 2 claws and remove the deck trim service hole cover.
- REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP WARNING:
- Wear insulating gloves.
- Remove the service plug grip to interrupt the high voltage circuit at the time of inspection or repair.
- Keep the removed service plug grip in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are servicing the vehicle.
- All the high voltage wiring connectors are orange.
- Wear insulating gloves and remove the service plug grip after sliding up the lever of the service plug grip as shown in the illustration.
WARNING:
- Keep the removed service plug grip in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are servicing the vehicle.
- After removing the service plug grip, do not touch the high voltage connectors or terminals for 10 minutes.
NOTE:Connect the auxiliary battery on the same day of installing the service plug grip to allow the battery cell voltage equalization function of the battery smart unit to operate
HINT:
Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly and electric vehicle charger assembly.
