Engine Oil Pressure Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Oil Pressure Switch Oil pressure switch/OFF or ON OFF: Engine starts -
      ON: Engine does not start

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the D26 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-12 (OPSW) - D26-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      L140-12 (OPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  4. GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
