Fuel Tank: Installation: Installation

1. Install the lower fuel tank cover sub-assembly.

1. Install the No. 2 fuel tank protector and new No. 3 fuel tank protector with the 3 clips.

1. Install the upper fuel tank cover, and connect the 10 clamps.

1. Install 2 new No. 3 fuel tank cushions as shown in the illustration.

1. Install 3 new No. 1 fuel tank cushions as shown in the illustration.

1. Support the fuel tank assembly using an engine lifter.
2. Raise the engine lifter, then install the fuel tank assembly to the vehicle.
   NOTE:

   • Do not drop the fuel tank assembly.
   • When installing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the suspension arm or other surrounding parts.
3. Tighten the 4 bolts of the 2 fuel tank bands.

   Torque: 45 N*m (459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf) 

1. Push in the fuel tube connector to the fuel pipe and push up the retainer so that the claws engage.

   NOTE:

   • Check that there is no damage or foreign matter around the connecting parts of the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe before starting this step.
   • After connecting the fuel tube connector, check that the fuel tube connector is securely connected by pulling on the fuel tube connector.

1. Push in the connector to the pipe and install the retainer.

   NOTE:

   • Check that there is no damage or foreign matter around the connecting parts of the connector and pipe before starting this step.
   • After connecting the connector, check that the connector is securely connected by pulling on the connector.

1. Push in the fuel tube connector to the fuel pipe and push up the retainer so that the claws engage.

1. Push in the fuel cut-off tube connector to the charcoal canister and push up the retainer so that the claws engage.

   NOTE:

   • Check that there is no damage or foreign matter around the connecting parts of the fuel cut-off tube connector and pipe before performing this work.
   • After connecting the fuel cut-off tube, check that the fuel cut-off tube is securely connected by pulling the fuel cut-off tube connector and the charcoal canister.

1. Install the No. 1 floor under cover with the 3 clamps, 5 clips and nut.

   Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

1. Install the No. 1 fuel tank protector with the 3 bolts.

   Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

1. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly with the bolt and nut.

   Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf) 

1. Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

   Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf)
