Front Door Courtesy Switch Circuit: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
- Read the display on the Techstream.MAIN BODY

- INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LH OR RH)
- Remove the front door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Inspect the front door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to INSPECTION

Front door courtesy light switch assembly is normal.

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- for Front LH
- Disconnect the 2D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
- Disconnect the R6 front door courtesy light switch assembly LH connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2D-35 - R6-1 Always Below 1 Ω 2D-35 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- for Front RH
- Disconnect the 2D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
- Disconnect the S5 front door courtesy light switch assembly RH connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2D-36 - S5-1 Always Below 1 Ω 2D-36 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- for Front LH
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
- for Front LH
- Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

- for Front RH
- Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
