HINT:
Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
NOTE:In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Power Source Control / Trouble Codes.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.POWER SOURCE CONTROL
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Stop Light Switch1 State of brake pedal/OFF or ON OFF: Brake pedal released
ON: Brake pedal depressed- Use this item to determine whether the stop light switch is malfunctioning.
- The hybrid control system cannot be started when this item is "OFF".
- When this item is malfunctioning, the hybrid control system can be started by pressing and holding the power switch for a certain period of time.
Start Switch1 Condition of power switch contact 1/OFF or ON OFF: Power switch not pressed
ON: Power switch pressed- If the power switch is pressed for a short time, the display may not change.
- Use this item to determine whether the power switch input signal is malfunctioning.
Start Switch2 Condition of power switch contact 2/OFF or ON OFF: Power switch not pressed
ON: Power switch pressed- This is the backup for power switch 1.
- Behaves the same way as power switch 1.
Latch Circuit Condition of IG related backup circuit (IG hold circuit)/OFF or ON OFF: Power switch off
ON: Power switch on (IG)This item behaves in almost the same way as the IG1 and IG2 relays. IG1 Relay Monitor (Outside) IG1 relay activation/OFF or ON OFF: IG1 relay off
ON: IG1 relay onAs this is the IG1 relay ON signal, this item displays "OFF" when the power switch is on (ACC). IG1 Relay Monitor (Inside) IG1 relay activation/OFF or ON OFF: IG1 relay off
ON: IG1 relay onAs this is the IG1 relay ON signal, this item displays "OFF" when the power switch is on (ACC). IG2 Relay Monitor (Outside) IG2 relay activation/OFF or ON OFF: IG2 relay off
ON: IG2 relay onAs this is the IG2 relay ON signal, this item displays "OFF" when the power switch is on (ACC). IG2 Relay Monitor (Inside) IG2 relay activation/OFF or ON OFF: IG2 relay off
ON: IG2 relay onAs this is the IG2 relay ON signal, this item displays "OFF" when the power switch is on (ACC). Starter Request Signal Condition of hybrid control system start command signal/OFF or ON OFF: Power switch released after approximately 1 second elapses
ON: Power switch pressed and held while carrying key with park (P) selected and brake pedal depressed- This item displays "ON" when starting the hybrid control system.
- The hybrid control system cannot be started when this item is "OFF".

- The hybrid control system cannot be started when this item displays "NG".
Engine Start Request Reception state of hybrid control system start permission signal determined by ID code box and sent to certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)/OK or NG OK: Receiving signal
NG: Not receiving signal- When this item displays "OK", the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) has received engine start request signal from the ID code box and has permitted hybrid control system start.
- The hybrid control system cannot be started when this item displays "NG".
S Code Check Verification result between certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and ID code box/OK or NG OK: Verification result normal
NG: Verification result abnormalWhen a malfunction is present: - The ID code for the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or ID code box is not registered or the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or ID code box is malfunctioning.
- The gearshift control cannot be locked.
- The gearshift control cannot be unlocked (the hybrid control system cannot be started).
L Code Check Verification result between ID code box and transmission control ECU assembly/OK or NG OK: Verification result normal

- ACTIVE TEST
HINT:
Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relay, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Power Source Control / Active Test.
