Front Passenger Side Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream ON.
    3. By following the Techstream screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTC output.

      RESULT

      Result Proceed to

      NG (2AR-FE) B
      NG (2GR-FE) C

    C → See step   11 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK MANUAL DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. Check that all the doors lock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to LOCK and all doors unlock when turned to UNLOCK.

      OK

      All doors can be locked and unlocked with door control switch.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION 
    1. Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List to confirm the operation of the door lock switch.
      SMART KEY

      Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      P-Door Trigger Switch Front passenger side door handle (lock switch) / ON or OFF ON: Lock switch is pushed
      OFF: Lock switch is not pushed
      -

      OK

      On Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Check that the entry lock function operates normally. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      OK

      Entry lock function operates normally.

    NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (MAIN BODY ECU) 

    OK → END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE) 

  6. INSPECT FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (for Passenger Side)

    1. Disconnect the front door outside handle (for passenger side) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals when the trigger switch is operated.

      Standard resistance 

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 (TRG-) - 3 (TRG+) Switch released 10 kΩ or higher
      Switch pressed in Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

  7. Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  OPERATION CHECK 
  9. Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Smart Key System). Refer to  OPERATION CHECK 
  10. REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (for Passenger Side). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
