Bluetooth Handsfree Module Communication Error: Procedure

  1. IDENTIFY COMPONENT SHOWN BY SUB-CODE 
    1. Enter the diagnostic mode.

    2. Press the preset switch "channel 3" to change to "Detailed Information Mode".
    3. Identify the component shown by the sub-code.

      HINT: 

      • "190 (radio receiver assembly)" is the component shown by the sub-code in the example shown in the illustration.
      • For details of the DTC display, refer to "DTC Check/Clear". Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK COMPONENT SHOWN BY SUB-CODE 
    1. Select the component shown by sub-code.

      HINT: 

      The "Bluetooth" handsfree module is built into the radio receiver assembly. If there is a problem between the "Bluetooth" handsfree module and radio receiver assembly, replace the radio receiver assembly.

  3. CHECK POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT OF COMPONENT SHOWN BY SUB-CODE 
    1. Inspect the power source circuit of the component shown by the sub-code.

      HINT: 

      If the power source circuit is operating normally, proceed to the next step.

  4. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the D133*1 and D60*2 radio receiver assembly connectors.

      • *1: w/ Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly
      • *2: w/ USB Audio System
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D133-5 (ATX+) - D133-15 (ATX-)*1 Always 60 to 80 Ω
      D60-9 (TXM+) - D60-10 (TXM-)*2 Always 60 to 80 Ω
      • *1: w/ Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly
      • *2: w/ USB Audio System

      *1 Component without harness connected

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - COMPONENT SHOWN BY SUB-CODE) 

    HINT: 

    • Start the check from the circuit that is near the component shown by the sub-code first.
    • For details of the connectors, refer to "Terminals of ECU". Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .
    1. Referring to the wiring diagram below, check the AVC-LAN circuit between the radio receiver assembly ("Bluetooth" handsfree module) and the component shown by the sub-code.
      1. Disconnect all connectors between the radio receiver assembly ("Bluetooth" handsfree module) and the component shown by the sub-code.
      2. Check for an open or short in the AVC-LAN circuit between the radio receiver assembly ("Bluetooth" handsfree module) and the component shown by the sub-code.

        OK

        There is no open or short circuit.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. REPLACE COMPONENT SHOWN BY SUB-CODE 
    1. Replace the component shown by the sub-code with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      OK

      Malfunction disappears.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END 

  7. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
