Mute Signal Circuit Between Stereo Component Tuner Assembly And Multi-Media Interface ECU: Procedure

  1. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L20-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, Satellite radio playing → Changing source Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Stereo Component Tuner Assembly)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the L20 stereo component tuner assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D67 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L20-6 (MUTE) - D67-14 (MUT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      L20-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
