Sound Signal Circuit between Navigation Receiver Assembly and Multi-media Interface ECU: Procedure

  1. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the signal waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions, as shown in the chart below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-2 (CDR+) - Body ground Audio sound is being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      D59-3 (CDR-) - Body ground
      D59-4 (CDL+) - Body ground
      D59-5 (CDL-) - Body ground

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D59 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D66 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D66-2 (URO+) - D59-2 (CDR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-3 (URO-) - D59-3 (CDR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-4 (ULO+) - D59-4 (CDL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-5 (ULO-) - D59-5 (CDL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D66-1 (USD1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D66-2 (URO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D66-3 (URO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D66-4 (ULO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D66-5 (ULO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  4. REPLACE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
