Mute Signal Circuit Between Navigation Receiver Assembly And Stereo Component Tuner Assembly: Procedure

  1. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D59-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, Satellite radio playing → Changing source Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT TUNER - TELEVISION DISPLAY) 
    1. Disconnect the L20 stereo component tuner assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D59 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-6 (MUTE) - L20-6 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D59-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
