Multi-media Interface ECU Power Source Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU 
    1. Disconnect the E82 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E82-12 (+B) - E82-7 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      E82-11 (ACC) - E82-7 (GND) Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

      (to Multi-media interface ECU)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the E84 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E82-11 (ACC) - E84-11 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      E82-12 (+B) - E84-12 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      E82-7 (GND) - E84-7 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E82-11 (ACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E82-12 (B+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E82-7 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
