Section 15 (Engine Cooling System (2AZ-FE) (Service Information)): Radiator: Removal: Removal

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
- REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
- REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE UNDER COVER
- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See step 1
- REMOVE BATTERY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15
- REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (except Sport Package) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (for Sport Package) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE
- Disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose from the radiator assembly.
- DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
- Disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose and hose clamp.
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
- Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.
- DISCONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle) . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 24
- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.
- Remove the 2 support cushions from the 2 upper radiator supports.
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- SEPARATE WATER BY-PASS HOSE
- Separate the water by-pass hose from the 2 clamps.
- Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.
- REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support sub-assembly.
- REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the horn connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD
- Remove the 2 bolts, disengage the 2 claws, and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.
- REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.
- Disconnect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors and wire harness clamp.

NOTE:Be careful not to damage the connector.
- Disconnect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors and wire harness clamp.
- Remove the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.NOTE:
For vehicles with an air conditioning system, do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.
- Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.
- Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.
- REMOVE OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)
- Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator.
- Disconnect the clamp from the fan shroud.
- Remove the 2 bolts and oil cooler hose.
- REMOVE FAN SHROUD
- Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud from the radiator assembly.
