Shift Lever Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Rotate the transmission control cable nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, push in the stopper until it makes 2 click sounds.

    2. Install the outer part of the transmission control cable to the shift lever retainer, check that the position of the spring is the same as A shown in the illustration, and push in the stopper.

      HINT: 

      If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly rotate the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper.

    3. Push the 2 claws together at the top of the transmission control cable lock piece. While holding the 2 claws together, push the 2 lugs on the bottom of the lock piece toward each other and upward to pull out the lock piece.

    4. Install the control shift cable to the shift lever assembly.

    5. Install the control select cable to the shift lever assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the lock piece is protruding from the adjuster case.
      • Make sure to adjust the length at the neutral shift position.
    6. Press in and lock the lock piece to the adjuster case.
      NOTE:

      Securely press in the lock piece until the lock engages.

  3. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE  See step  1
  4. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 18
  7. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
  9. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 22
  10. INSTALL FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 23
  11. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
  12. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  13. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
