Section 16 (Engine Cooling System (2AZ-FE) (Service Information)): Radiator: Installation: Installation

INSTALL FAN SHROUD
1. Install the fan shroud to the radiator assembly with the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)
INSTALL OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)
1. Install the oil cooler hose with the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
2. Connect the clamp to the fan shroud.
3. Connect the 2 oil cooler hoses to the radiator.
INSTALL RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
1. Install the 2 lower radiator supports.
2. Install the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.

  NOTE:
  For vehicles with an air conditioning system, do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when installing the radiator assembly.
3. Connect the cooling fan motor connector.
  1. Connect the 2 cooling fan motor connectors and wire harness clamp.

INSTALL NO. 2 FAN SHROUD
1. Engage the 2 claws and install the No. 2 fan shroud to the radiator assembly with the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)
INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the upper radiator support sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

  Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
2. Connect the horn connector.

INSTALL HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the hood lock support sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)
INSTALL WATER BY-PASS HOSE
1. Install the water by-pass hose with the 2 clamps.

2. Connect the water by-pass hose to the radiator assembly with the clamp.
INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT
1. Install the 2 radiator support cushions to the 2 upper radiator supports.
2. Install the 2 upper radiator supports with the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
CONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle) . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 54
CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
1. Connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the radiator assembly with the clamp.

CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
1. Connect the No. 1 radiator hose and clamp.

CONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE
1. Connect the radiator reservoir tank hose to the radiator assembly with the clamp.

INSTALL THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY
INSTALL BATTERY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 63
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
ADD ENGINE COOLANT See step 2
INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (except Sport Package) . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (for Sport Package) . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
ADJUST FOG LIGHT AIMING (w/ Fog Light)
Refer to ADJUSTMENT
