Stop Light Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK STOP LIGHT (OPERATION) 
    1. Confirm that the stop lights illuminate correctly.

      OK

      Stop light operation is normal

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - STOP LIGHT CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the A28 stop light control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-2 (STP) - A28-1 (OUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      L140-2 (STP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  4. GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
