Front Fog Light Circuit: Procedure

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
- Check that the relay operates.MAIN BODY

Front fog light relay operates. (Front fog lights come on.)

OK → See step 5
- CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS)
- Check the operation of the taillights.
OK
Taillights operate normally.
NG → See step 7
OK: Go to next step
- Check the operation of the taillights.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
- Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.
- Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2E-1.
- Connect a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminals A-14 and A-13.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

(Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)
NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BULB - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
- Disconnect the C4 or C6 fog light assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C4-2 - 2C-8 Always Below 1 Ω C6-2 - 2C-8 Always Below 1 Ω 2C-8 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher C4-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω C6-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 6
- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to REMOVAL
- GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
