DTC U0235: Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor: Procedure

- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Select "CAN Bus Check" from the "System Selection Menu" screen on the Techstream.
- Select "Communication Malfunction DTC" from the "CAN Bus Check" screen, and then select "Enter".
OK
Communication system is normal.
NG → See step 7
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR POWER SOURCE)
- Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A2-5 (IGB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Front view of wire harness connector
(to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly) - Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - IG1 NO. 1 RELAY)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A2-2 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Front view of wire harness connector
(to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly) - Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
OK: Go to next step
- REPLACE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY
- Replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Adjust the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .
NEXT: Go to next step
- CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC U0235)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT:
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed for which cruise control operation is possible.
- Turn the cruise control main switch on.
- Push the -SET switch to activate the cruise control.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
- Read the DTCs.
