Rear Door Courtesy Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      RR Door Courtesy SW Rear door courtesy light switch RH signal/ON or OFF ON: Rear door LH open and rear door RH closed
      ON: Rear door LH closed and rear door RH open
      ON: Rear door LH and rear door RH open
      OFF: Rear door LH and rear door RH closed

      RL Door Courtesy SW Rear door courtesy light switch LH signal/ON or OFF ON: Rear door LH open and rear door RH closed
      ON: Rear door LH closed and rear door RH open
      ON: Rear door LH and rear door RH open
      OFF: Rear door LH and rear door RH closed
      -

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      OK A
      Rear door courtesy light switch LH and RH do not operate B

  2. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LH AND RH) 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Inspect the rear door courtesy light switch assembly. Refer to INSPECTION .

      OK

      Rear door courtesy light switch assembly is normal.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - REAR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L7 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the R13 rear door courtesy light switch assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the S10 rear door courtesy light switch assembly RH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L7-6 (LRCY) - R13-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      L7-6 (LRCY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L7-6 (LRCY) - S10-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   5 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  5. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
