System Description [12/2012 - 08/2016]

  1. FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
    • The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical and lumbar support adjustment functions.
    • The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and recall the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
    Component Function
Position control ECU and switch assembly Based on the switch operation, seat adjuster signals are input to the position control ECU and switch assembly to adjust the seat accordingly.
Separate type front seat cushion spring assembly Slide motor Receives a signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Front vertical motor Receives a signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
Lifter motor Receives a signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Position sensor Built into each motor and sends position data to the position control ECU and switch assembly so that it can detect the position at all times.
Separate type front seatback spring assembly Reclining motor Receives a signal from the position control ECU and switch assembly, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.
Position sensor Built into the reclining motor and sends position data to the position control ECU and switch assembly so that the ECU can detect the position at all times.
Lumbar support adjuster assembly Receives a signal from the power seat switch assembly and operates the built-in motor to adjust the lumbar support.
Seat memory switch If the seat memory SET switch is being pressed when one of the M1 or M2 seat memory switches is pressed, or if one of the M1 or M2 switches is pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the SET switch, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) sends the signals so that the seat position can be stored.
Then, when a seat memory switch is pressed, a signal is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and the seat position changes according to memory.
Power seat switch assembly Operates the motor built into the lumbar support adjuster assembly according to switch operation.
  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

The front power seat functions which can be operated with the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.

    Seat Function Driver Seat
    Slide Power and Memory
    Reclining Power and Memory
    Front Vertical Power and Memory
    Lifter Power and Memory
    Lumbar Support Adjustment Power

The seat memory switch sends memory switch information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). Then the information is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN and then an instruction to memorize the seat position is sent to the position control ECU and switch assembly via CAN. As a result, the seat position is memorized.
