SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function): Precaution: Precaution

  1. PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING THE TECHSTREAM 
    1. When using the Techstream to troubleshoot the LIN communication line: Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.
    2. After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG).
  2. PRECAUTIONS FOR PUSH-BUTTON START FUNCTION 
    1. Before starting the EV system, firmly depress the brake pedal until the indicator of the power switch lights up in green.
    2. The power source mode (off, on (ACC), on (IG)) is always stored in the vehicle. After the auxiliary battery is disconnected and reconnected, the power source condition before auxiliary battery disconnection will be restored. Be sure to turn the power switch off before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Be careful if the power source condition before the auxiliary battery became depleted is not known.
    3. After the auxiliary battery is disconnected and reconnected, be sure to wait 10 seconds or more before starting the EV system. The EV system may not start immediately after the auxiliary battery is reconnected.
    4. When the key battery is depleted and the key is held close to the power switch to start the EV system, several warnings may sound. However, the warnings most likely sound because the vehicle cannot determine if the key is in the vehicle or not, and not because there is an actual malfunction. The following warnings may sound:

      - Driver side door open → closed:

      • Warning to inform that R, N, D or B is selected, and the power source mode is not off.
      • Warning to inform that park (P) selected but the power source mode is not off.

      - Door other than the driver side door open → closed:

      • Warning to inform that a passenger is carrying the key out of the vehicle.
  3. PRECAUTION FOR REGISTRATION 
    1. If replacing any of the following parts, refer to the registration procedures. Refer to REGISTRATION .
      1. Certification ECU (ECU aggregation box assembly)
      2. Steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly)
      3. ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)
      4. Power management control ECU
      5. Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly
