Engine Control System (2GR-FE) (Service Information): ECM: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the 2 brackets to the ECM with the 4 screws.

      Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the ECM with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.

      NOTE:

      When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not become stuck between the connectors and other parts.

      1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.
        NOTE:

        Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.

  2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 101
  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT: 

    Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.

    1. Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
    2. Register the ECM communication ID for the immobiliser system when replacing the ECM. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
    3. Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM See step  8.
