DTC P2111, P2112; Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Open [08/2016 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2111 OR P2112)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read the DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Trouble Codes
Result
Result Proceed to DTC P2111 or P2112 is output A DTC P2111 or P2112 and other DTCs are output B HINT:
If any DTCs other than P2111 or P2112 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

- INSPECT THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE)
- Check for contamination between the throttle valve and housing. If necessary, clean the throttle body assembly. Also check that the throttle valve moves smoothly.

Throttle valve is not contaminated with foreign matter and moves smoothly.
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after cleaning the throttle body assembly.

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (THROTTLE POSITION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Clear the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs
- Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Gas Throttle / Throttle Position No. 1, Throttle Position No. 2 and Throttle Position Command.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List
Tester Display Throttle Position No. 1 Throttle Position No. 2 Throttle Position Command - Read the values displayed on the Techstream while wiggling the ECM wire harness.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read the DTCs.

- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY)
- As the DTC was stored due to a change in the contact resistance of the connector, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

- CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2111 OR P2112)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Clear the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs
- Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read the DTCs.
