DTC B1787: Rear Occupant Classification Sensor LH Collision Detection [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform Zero Point Calibration and Sensitivity Check.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2013 - 08/2016] Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Zero Point Calibration & Sensitivity Check

      OK

      "Zero Point Calibration is complete." and "Sensitivity Check is complete." are displayed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant detection ECU.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Clear DTCs 

    2. Clear the DTCs stored in the airbag sensor assembly.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B1787 is not output.

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTC B1787 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

  3. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  4. REPLACE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Replace the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - 04/2014] Refer to REMOVAL [04/2014 - 08/2017] Refer to REMOVAL [08/2017 - ]

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Result

  5. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK

  6. REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Replace the front seat adjuster sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Result

  7. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION AND SENSITIVITY CHECK
