How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [10/2013 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS AND SYMPTOM CHECK 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FUNCTION OF LIGHTING SYSTEM (EXT) 
    1. Check whether the lighting system is functioning normally. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Lighting system is functioning normally A
      Lighting system is not functioning normally B

      B → GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the GTS to check if the meter/gauge system is functioning normally.

      HINT: 

      If the vehicle approaching speaker controller mistakenly receives a vehicle speed signal, communication between the vehicle and the GTS fails. Be sure to check "Vehicle Speed Meter" displayed on the Data List to make sure that the vehicle speed is not abnormal.

      No vehicle speed signal is mistakenly received A
      A vehicle speed signal is mistakenly received B

      B → GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2013 - ]

  7. CHECK HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check whether the hybrid control system is functioning normally. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Hybrid control system is functioning normally A
      Hybrid control system is not functioning normally B

      B → GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2013 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2013 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are output A
      DTCs are not output B

      B → GO TO STEP DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2013 - ]  

      A: Go to next step 

  9. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    Result

    Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table. A
    Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table. B

    B → GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2013 - ]

  10. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING 
    1. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2013 - ] 
    2. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [10/2013 - ] 
    3. Inspection

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
