Charging Timer Switch Circuit [10/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CHARGING TIMER SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Plug-in Control / Data List / Charging Timer SW.
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Charging Timer SW Charging timer switch status/
      ON or OFF
      ON: Charging timer switch operated
      OFF: Charging timer switch not operated

      OK

      The Data List values change in accordance with the status of charging timer switch.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH SET (CHARGING TIMER SWITCH CHECK) 
    1. Remove the satellite switch set.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 Charging Timer Switch - -
      *A w/o Headup Display *B w/ Headup Display
      *a Component without harness connected
      (Satellite Switch Set)
      - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L57-1 (ECU) - L57-12 (E) Charging timer switch operated Below 1 Ω
      Charging timer switch not operated 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Install the satellite switch set.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SATELLITE SWITCH SET - PLUGIN CHARGE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect connector L57 from the satellite switch set.
    2. Disconnect connector S31 from the plug-in charge control ECU assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L57-1 (ECU) - S31-17 (PTMS) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      L57-1 (ECU) or S31-17 (PTMS) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Satellite Switch Set)
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Plugin Charge Control ECU Assembly)
    4. Connect the plug-in charge control ECU assembly connector.
    5. Connect the satellite switch set connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SATELLITE SWITCH SET - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect connector L57 from the satellite switch set.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L57-12 (E) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Satellite Switch Set)
    3. Connect the satellite switch set connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   7 

  5. GO TO PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2013 - ] 
  6. REPLACE SATELLITE SWITCH SET. Refer to  COMPONENTS [10/2013 - ] 
  7. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2013 - ]
