Installation [10/2013 - ]

  1. INSTALL STEERING PAD 
    1. Check that the power switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the 2 airbag connectors to the steering pad.

      NOTE:
      • When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.
    4. Push in the 2 locks to install the 2 airbag connectors.
    5. Connect the horn connector to the steering pad.
    6. Push the steering pad to engage the 2 pins.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the pins are securely inserted into the steering holes.

  2. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER 
    1. Engage the claw to install the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

  3. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER 
    1. Engage the claw to install the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 
  5. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD  . Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2013 - ] - Step 58
  6. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2013 - ] - Step 59
  7. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for Separate Type)  . Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2013 - ] - Step 60
  8. INSPECT STEERING PAD 
    1. Visually check for defects with the steering pad installed on the vehicle.

      1. The defects are as follows:
        • Cuts on the surface and in the grooves of the steering pad
        • Small cracks on the surface and in the grooves of the steering pad
        • Significant discoloration on the surface and in the grooves of the steering pad

        OK

        No defects are found.

        HINT: 

        If any of the defects is found, replace the steering pad with a new one.

    2. Make sure that the horn sounds.

      HINT: 

      If the horn does not sound, inspect the horn system. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2013 - ] .

  9. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 
    1. Perform a diagnostic system check. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2013 - ] .
  10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [10/2013 - ] .
