Even when Engine is Started or Transmission Shift Main Switch (P Position Switch) is Pushed, Sound does not Stop [10/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Oil Pressure SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Vehicle Proximity Notification System / Data List.
    5. Check the value(s) by referring to the table below.
      VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Oil Pressure SW Oil pressure switch / OFF or ON OFF: Engine started
      ON: Engine not started
      -

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to engine operation A
      The Techstream display does not change according to engine operation B

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Shift Position) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Vehicle Proximity Notification System / Data List.
    5. Check the value(s) by referring to the table below.
      VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

  3. CHECK VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER (SHIFT) 
    1. Disconnect the A23 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-20 (IND) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 8 V or higher
      Power switch off Below 2.5 V

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Transmission Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the A23 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-20 (IND) - Body ground Power switch on (IG), park (P) selected Below 2.5 V
      Power switch on (IG), park (P) not selected 8 V or higher

      (Transmission Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → See step   9 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the A23 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-11 (SFTP) - A23-20 (IND) Always Below 1 Ω
      L140-11 (SFTP) or A23-20 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   9 

  6. CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (INPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-12 (OPSW) - Body ground Idling* 8 V or higher
      Power switch on (IG) Below 2 V

      HINT: 

      *: Put the engine in inspection mode. Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [10/2013 - ] .

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the L140 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the D26 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L140-12 (OPSW) - D26-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      L140-12 (OPSW) or D26-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   12 

  8. REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] 
  9. REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] 
  10. REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] 
  11. REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] 
  12. REPLACE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2013 - ]
