Front Passenger Side Door Entry Lock and Unlock Functions do not Operate [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
    3. By following the Techstream screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

      OK

      DTC is not output.

    NG → Go to CORRESPONDING SYSTEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check that the power door lock functions operate normally. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2013 - ] .

      OK

      All doors can be locked and unlocked with door control switch.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
      SMART KEY

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      P-Seat Outside Transmitter Front passenger side door electrical key oscillator ON or OFF -

      OK

      When key is brought close to door oscillator that is ON, indicator light on key illuminates.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   11 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [ECU AGGREGATION BOX ASSEMBLY] - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH) 
    1. Disconnect the E84 certification ECU (ECU aggregation box assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the G10 door electrical key oscillator RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E84-35 (CLG2) - G10-10 (CLG) Always Below 1 Ω
      E84-36 (CG2B) - G10-5 (CLGB)
      E84-35 (CLG2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E84-36 (CG2B) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH - ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA) 
    1. Disconnect the G10 door electrical key oscillator RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G9 electrical key antenna connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G10-2 (SGT) - G9-6 (SGT) Always Below 1 Ω
      G10-3 (ANT1) - G9-5 (ANT1)
      G10-8 (ANT2) - G9-2 (ANT2)
      G10-9 (TRG-) - G9-1 (TRG-)
      G10-2 (SGT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G10-3 (ANT1) - Body ground
      G10-8 (ANT2) - Body ground
      G10-9 (TRG-) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G10 door electrical key oscillator RH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G10-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G10-1 (B) - G10-7 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V

      (to Door Electrical Key Oscillator RH)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA - CERTIFICATION ECU [ECU AGGREGATION BOX ASSEMBLY]) 
    1. Disconnect the G9 electrical key antenna connector.
    2. Disconnect the E84 certification ECU (ECU aggregation box assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G9-3 (TRG+) - E84-4 (TSW2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH (OPERATION) 

    Temporarily replace the electrical key antenna (front door outside handle assembly RH) with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] .

    1. Check that the entry lock and unlock functions operate normally. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2013 - ] .

      OK

      Entry lock and unlock functions operate normally.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END (ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA [FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY RH] WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  9. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the door electrical key oscillator RH with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] .
    2. Check that the entry lock and unlock functions operate normally. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2013 - ] .

      OK

      Entry lock and unlock functions operate normally.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK → END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR RH WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  10. Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2013 - ] 
  11. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (ECU AGGREGATION BOX ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2013 - ]
