How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Interview the customer to confirm the problem.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2017 - ]

  3. PRE-CHECK 
    1. Measure the battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

    2. Check the fuses and relays.
    3. Check the connector connections and terminals to make sure that there are no abnormalities such as loose connections, deformation, etc.

  4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream, check for CAN communication system DTCs.

      w/ Central Gateway ECU: Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - ]

      w/o Central Gateway ECU: Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2017 - ]

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)* 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM:  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2016 - ]

  6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM)* 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Trouble Codes

    1. Check the operation of the speedometer, shift indicator* and brake warning light on the combination meter assembly.
