DTC P0D53-408: On-Board Charger Output Current Sensor Circuit Low; DTC P0D54-409: On-Board Charger Output Current Sensor Circuit High [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Plug-in Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P0D53-408 or P0D54-409 is output or P0D53-408, P0D54-409 and DTCs other than U019B-440 are also output. A
      U019B-440 is output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY (ICHG SENSOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE) See step   8 

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   5 

  3. GO TO DTC CHART (U019B-440). Refer to  DTC U019B-440: Lost Communication with Battery Charger Control Module [08/2014 - ] 
  4. REPLACE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2014 - ] 
  5. REPLACE PLUGIN CHARGE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [08/2014 - ]
