- GENERAL
- To assist the driver with parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle, this system has a rear television camera assembly mounted on the back door. The system displays the image on the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2.
- The rear view monitor system consists of the following components:
- Navigation ECU sub-assembly*1
- Radio and display receiver assembly*2
- Rear television camera assembly
- No. 1 integration relay
- Power management control ECU
- *1: for Navigation Receiver Type or for Radio and Display Type (w/o Daytime Running Light)
- *2: for Radio and Display Type (w/ Daytime Running Light)
- FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS
- The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 controls the system by using information from the following components:
Item Function Rear Television Camera Assembly - Mounted on the back door to transmit an image of the area behind the vehicle to the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2.
- Has a color video camera that uses a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) and a wide-angle lens.
Navigation ECU Sub-assembly*1
Radio and Display Receiver Assembly*2- Receives video signals, which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the rear television camera assembly.
- Performs control of the system by receiving the reverse signal from the No. 1 integration relay.
- Displays the rear view monitor image on the display panel.
No. 1 Integration Relay Transmits a reverse signal to the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2. Power Management Control ECU Transmits a reverse signal to the No. 1 integration relay. - *1: for Navigation Receiver Type or for Radio and Display Type (w/o Daytime Running Light)

- The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 controls the system by using information from the following components:
- OPERATION EXPLANATION
- The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 receives the reverse signal from the No. 1 integration relay when the power switch is on (READY) and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 switches from the navigation system to the rear view monitor system.

- The navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 receives the reverse signal from the No. 1 integration relay when the power switch is on (READY) and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the navigation ECU sub-assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 switches from the navigation system to the rear view monitor system.
