Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction [08/2013 - 04/2014]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result:  2

    B 

    GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM:  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - 08/2016] 

    Result:  1

    A 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs 

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B

    Result:  2

    B 

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM:  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - 04/2014] 

    Result:  1

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OCCUPANT DETECTION) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Occupant Detection / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Passenger Buckle SW Front passenger buckle switch Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      Set: Seat belt fastened
      NG: Data is not determined      		 -

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Data List

      Passenger Buckle SW

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Unset or Set is displayed on the Techstream according to the front passenger seat belt condition A
      Unset or Set is not displayed correctly on the Techstream according to the front passenger seat belt condition B
      NG is displayed on the Techstream C

    Result:  2

    B 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - 04/2014] 

    Result:  3

    C 

    REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 

    Result:  1

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Data List

      Right side Buckle SW RH buckle switch Unset, Set or NG Unset: Seat belt not fastened
      Set: Seat belt fastened
