Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation Receiver Assembly and Stereo Component Amplifier [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N11-1 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, audio system playing
      → Changing modes
      Above 3.5 V
      → Below 1 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Stereo Component Amplifier Assembly)

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G37 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N11 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-16 (MUT1) - N11-1 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω
      G37-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the N11 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G37 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G37-16 (MUT1) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, audio system is playing Above 3.5 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )
