Manual Up / Down Function does not Operate on Back Door Only [08/2015 - 08/2022]: Procedure

  1. SYSTEM CHECK 
    1. Check the back door switch.
      Result Proceed to
      All back door switches do not operate A
      Back door power window regulator switch does not operate B
      Tail gate control switch does not operate C
      Back door control switch does not operate D

    Result:

    Result: 

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 

    (Refer to All Doors LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate Via Master Switch, Driver Side Door Key Cylinder [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to All Doors LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate Via Master Switch, Driver Side Door Key Cylinder [08/2019 - 08/2022] )

    Result: 

    GO TO SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Entry Function)

  2. CHECK LIGHTING SYSTEM (BACK DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the back door courtesy light switch is functioning properly (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - 08/2022] ).

  3. CHECK REAR WIPER SYSTEM (REAR WIPER POSITION) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the rear wiper is functioning properly (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - 08/2022] ).

  4. CHECK FOR DTC (B2312) 
    1. Check if DTC B2312 is output. (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - ] ).

      OK

      DTC B2312 is not output.

    Result:

    GO TO DTC B2312

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW) 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the door window regulator operates (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2019 - 08/2022] ).

  6. INSPECT BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the back door power window regulator motor (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] ).

    2. Check that the back door power window regulator motor moves smoothly as follows.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminal other than terminal 2 (B) to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor.
      • Reset the door window regulator (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the door window regulator to the door.
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      1. Connect the positive (+) battery terminal to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more.
      2. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected to the battery, connect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 10 (UP).
      3. Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 10 (UP) within 1 second.
      Motor gear rotates clockwise (Up)
      1. Connect the positive (+) battery terminal to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more.
      2. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected to the battery, connect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 7 (DOWN).
      3. Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal to terminal 7 (DOWN) within 1 second.
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise (Down)

    REPLACE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the W9 back door power window regulator motor connector.
    2. Disconnect the W10 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W9-10 (UP) - W10-14 (BUP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      W9-7 (DOWN) - W10-13 (BDN2) Always Below 1 Ω
      W9-10 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W9-7 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU (BACK DOOR P/W) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. INSPECT BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the back door power window regulator switch (Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (UP) - 1 (E) Manual up operation Below 1 Ω
      7 (DOWN) - 1 (E) Manual down operation Below 1 Ω
      6 (UP) - 1 (E) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (DOWN) - 1 (E) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the f1 back door power window regulator switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the V2 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f1-6 (UP) - V2-22 (BUP) Always Below 1 Ω
      f1-7 (DOWN) - V2-23 (BDN) Always Below 1 Ω
      f1-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      f1-6 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      f1-7 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU (BACK DOOR P/W) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
