Turn Signal Switch Circuit [06/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TURN SIGNAL LIGHT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      BODY ELECTRICAL > MAIN BODY > DATA LIST

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Left Turn Signal Light Left turn signal light state ON or OFF ON: Left Turn Signal Light on
      OFF: Left Turn Signal Light off

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TURN SIGNAL SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      OK

    REPLACE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]

  3. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]

    2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2016 - 03/2017] Refer to INSPECTION [03/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D50 headlight dimmer switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D61 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D50-15(TL) - D61-5(EL) Always Below 1 Ω
      D50-13(TR) - D61-6(ER) Always Below 1 Ω
      D50-15(TL) or D61-5(EL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D50-13(TR) or D61-6(ER) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) - TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D5 and D6 main body ECU (Network Gateway ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the D61 turn signal flasher assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D5-17 (TSWL) - D61-5 (EL) Always Below 1 Ω
      D6-9 (TSWR) - D61-6 (ER) Always Below 1 Ω
      D5-17 (TSWL) or D61-5 (EL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D6-9 (TSWR) or D61-6 (ER) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 3A, 3C and 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-4 - 3C-20 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-4 - 3D-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-6 - 3C-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-6 - 3D-18 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-4 or 3C-20 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3A-4 or 3D-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3A-6 or 3C-16 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3A-6 or 3D-18 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
