DTC U1712: LIN Communication Error with Battery Monitor Module [06/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ]

5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait at least 30 seconds.
6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.
7. Read the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ]

   RESULT:
   
   

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC U1712 is output	A
   No DTC is output	B

Result: 

B 

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ]

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Connect the engine control computer connector properly.

   OK

   The connector is securely connected.

Result: 

NG 

CONNECT THE ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER CONNECTOR PROPERLY 

Result: 

OK

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor.
3. Disconnect the connector from the battery sensor.
4. Disconnect the battery positive terminal.
5. Measure the resistance of the harness between the positive terminal of the battery cable and the battery sensor connector.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Battery positive (+) terminal A78-2(LIN)	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A78-2(LIN) Battery positive (+) terminal	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ] 

Result: 

NG
