DTC U171F: LIN Communication Error with Generator [06/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Clear the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ]

5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait at least 30 seconds.
6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.
7. Read the DTCs.

   Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ]

   RESULT:
   
   

   Result	Proceed to
   DTC U171F is output	A
   No DTC is output	B

Result: 

NG 

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [06/2016 - ]

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Check that the connector is properly connected to the ECU.

   OK

   The connector is securely connected.

Result: 

NG 

CONNECT THE ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER CONNECTOR PROPERLY 

Result: 

OK

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor.
3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   Generator assembly (+) terminal Body ground	Always	Battery voltage

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK 

See step  4

1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the battery State Sensor Assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A33-21(LIN) A80-1(C)	Always	Below 1 Ω

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2016 - ] 

Result: 

NG
