DTC P0721: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance [06/2016 - ]: Description
The transmission revolution sensor (SP2) inputs signal into the TCM as a signal of the output axis revolutions.
The TCM carries out shift timing control based upon signals from the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) and the transmission revolution sensor (NT).

- Transmission 3-way solenoid assemblies (S1, S2, S3, S4, SR), transmission revolution sensor (NT), shift position sensor, No. 1 clutch control solenoids (SL1, SL2), and line pressure control solenoid assembly (SLT) are working normal.
When driving with the shift lever in D, the difference between the VSC vehicle speed and the vehicle speed based on the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) output shaft speed is 15% or more for 10 seconds or more (2.5 seconds or more after the shift lever is moved to D, or if the oil temperature sensor has a malfunction or oil temperature is 20°C (68°F) or less, 10 seconds or more after the shift lever is moved to D).
- The difference between the VSC vehicle speed and the vehicle speed based on the transmission revolution sensor (SP2) output shaft speed is more than 15%.
- Continues for 10 sec.
