Open in CAN Main Bus Line [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (DLC3 BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      *1 DLC3

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D28-6 (CANH) - D28-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      NOTE:

      When the measured value is 133 Ω or higher and a CAN communication system DTC is output, there may be a fault besides disconnection of the DLC3 branch line. For that reason, troubleshooting should be performed again from How to Proceed with Troubleshooting after repairing the trouble area (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2014 - 10/2015] ).

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE CONNECTED TO DLC3 

    OK

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (ECM - NO. 2 CAN J/C) 
    1. Disconnect the A18 ECM connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A18-13 (CANH) -A18-26 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    NG

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - NO. 1 CAN J/C) 
    1. Reconnect the A18 ECM connector.
    2. Disconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.

      (to Combination Meter Assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D9-16 (CANH) - D9-15 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

    NG

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 1 CAN J/C) 
    1. Reconnect the D9 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D72 No. 1 CAN junction connector.
    3. Disconnect the D73 No. 1 CAN junction connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connectors, make a note of where they are connected.
      • Reconnect each connector to its original position.

    REPLACE NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 1 CAN J/C - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 2 CAN J/C) 
    1. Reconnect the D72 No. 1 CAN Junction Connector.
    2. Reconnect the D73 No. 1 CAN Junction Connector.
    3. Disconnect the D78 No. 2 CAN Junction Connector.
    4. Disconnect the D81 No. 2 CAN Junction Connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
