Removal [08/2013 - ]: Procedure
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE BATTERY

- REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

- REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
- REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the floor shift lever assembly.
*a Transmission Control Select Cable *b Transmission Control Shift Cable - Disconnect the transmission control shift cable from the floor shift lever assembly.
- Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.NOTE:
Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.
- Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever retainer.
*a Nut *b Stopper NOTE:Do not rotate the nut excessively as the internal spring may jump out and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.
- Remove the 2 clips (A) and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the manual transaxle assembly.
- Remove the 2 clips (B) and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket assembly.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control cable support.
- Remove the 2 nuts and transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle exterior.
- Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the floor shift lever assembly.
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE SUPPORT

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the transmission control cable support is necessary.
