- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER (for 2ZR-FE)

- SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the park/neutral position switch assembly.
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
- Pry out the lock plate and remove the lock nut and lock plate from the park/neutral position switch assembly.
- Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch assembly from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.
- Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the park/neutral position switch assembly.
