Rear Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

    1. Check the rear seat belt warning function.

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E84 telltale light assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      E84-10 (IG+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Reconnect the E84 telltale light assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E43 and E47* combination meter assembly connectors.
      • *: for Multi-information Display (Color Type)
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (2nd-Row Seatbelt Buckle (R)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

    1. Disconnect the E43 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the L57 rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY (COLOR TYPE)

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

    1. Disconnect the E43 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E84 telltale light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      • *2: for Multi-information Display (Segment LCD Type and Dot LCD Type)
    2. Disconnect the E84 telltale light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
