Pre-collision System Circuit [08/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
    1. Measure the battery voltage with the ignition switch off.

      Standard voltage

      11 to 14 V

    2. Using the parts location and system diagram, check the system for blown-out fuses, open or short circuits in the wire harness (es) and connectors that are not properly connected by performing a visual check.

      HINT:

If the voltage is 11 V or less, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.

    NEXT

    See step  2

  2. CHECK PRE-COLLISION CITY SENSOR
    1. Check pre-collision city sensor.
      NOTE:

DTCs may be output when connectors are disconnected during inspection. Therefore, make sure to clear the DTCs using the Techstream once the inspection has been completed.

      1. Disconnect the N5 pre-collision city sensor connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        N5-7 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
        N5-7 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        N5-10 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      4. Connect the N5 pre-collision city sensor connector.

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  3

  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - ]
