Precaution [12/2013 - 11/2016]

  1. CAUTION REGARDING INTERFERENCE WITH ELECTRONIC DEVICES 
    WARNING:
    • People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should keep away from the smart key system antennas. The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices. If necessary, the entry function can be disabled. Ask your dealer for details, such as the frequency of radio waves and timing of the emitted radio waves. Then, consult your doctor to see if you should disable the entry function.

      Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [12/2013 - ] .

    • User of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should consult the manufacturer of the device for information about its operation under the influence of radio waves. Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical devices.
    • Ask your dealer for details for disabling the entry function.
  2. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected.

  3. DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER EXPRESSIONS 
    1. The type of door control receiver used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this information.

  4. PRECAUTION WHEN USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. When using the Techstream with the engine switch off, connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key. While using the Techstream, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the Techstream and the vehicle.
  5. PRECAUTION FOR REGISTRATION 
    1. If replacing any of the following parts, refer to the registration procedures.

      Refer to REGISTRATION [12/2013 - 11/2016] .

      1. Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)
      2. Steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly)
      3. ECM
      4. Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly
      5. Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)
    2. When the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, the stored steering lock position will no longer match that of the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) and it may not be possible to start the engine. Therefore, after replacement, perform the following procedure.
      1. Move the shift lever to P.
      2. With the engine switch off, open and close a door, and then start the engine.
