FC Converter Assembly Communication Stop Mode [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (FC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY MAIN LINE) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Check that the service plug grip is not installed to FC stack assembly and EV battery.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    3. Disconnect the Ao2 FC converter assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to FC Converter Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Ao2-1 (CA1H) - Ao2-7 (CA1L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Result 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (FC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed to FC stack assembly and EV battery.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the Ao2 FC converter assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the Ao1 FC converter assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Ao2-5 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
      Ao2-12 (E2) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    5. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Ao2-6 (+B1) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Ao2-13 (+B2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Ao1-8 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FC CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - 11/2018]
